Since November 2008, these birds are migrating to others warm places. After Chinese New Year, I saw them flying in a ‘huge’ group in the sky and stand on top of the power cable.
Tampin or Pulau Sebang had another nick name, called – Swallow town(Yan Zi Cheng). No need to explain more on the name given, you can see the swallows form a huge group and flying all over the town.

People in this town had found a business opportunity when they saw these bird – Yes, bird nest. Now a day, people build a ‘home’ for these birds and let the birds stayed. Later, after few months, the owner will start harvesting their nest. The bird nest is ‘build’ by the bird’s own gummy saliva, the saliva become hard when it ‘contact’ with the air.
Once the nest is harvested, it will send to factory for cleaned up process.

The most common bird nest product we can found in the market is the bottle packing – Bird nest with Rock sugar. It can be consume directly or you can warm it a little bit. So, what so good about bird nest ? From what I know, eating bird nest had these beneficial :

My hometown always full of Swallow birds…but never heard about people getting birds’ nest except bird’s dirt on cars & roads…Heheh…If u really ‘lucky’ enough, might get 1st prize from the bird!…LOL

Piyo # There are different kinds of swallow bird, some can give valuable bird nest, some can not.
