What is Raptor Watch?

Raptor Watch is a festival organized by Malaysian Nature Society, to celebrate the return of the migratory “raptor” birds to their breeding ground. The purpose of this public event is to raise the awareness on the conservation and habitats of the raptors.
When is Raptor Watch week ?
Raptor Watch is held annually on first week of March. The date for this event on 2012 is from 10th March – 11th March 2012 and the best time to watch raptors is between 11.00 am to 3.00 pm. Why? Raptors mostly are big, they need the hot air/thermal to aid them glide in sky in order to reduce the energy usage in flapping wings.
Raptor Watch Event Vanue/Location
This event is held at Tanjung Tuan Forest Reserve where the famous and oldest lighthouse is situated. Tanjung Tuan also can referred to Blue Lagoon – about 16 KM from Port Dickson town heading South.
