Redang island, located at East Coast of Malaysia(South China Sea). Famous of its crystal clear water, sandy beach and tropical fishes inhabited in numerous reefs. Because of the beautiful untouched coral reefs, Redang island become the BEST snorkeling and diving location which attract million of visitors from all over the World every year.
Do you know, Redand island contain two famous ships wreck? HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse which sunk by Japenese invasion during World War 2.
"The Titan"
Marine Park Center, is the most popular snorkeling destination. It can be very crowded during peak season(April – August). Snorkeling around the Marine Park Center jetty, you can see many type of fish, don’t get surprise when you saw a giant Grouper(4-6 feet long) or a giant moray eel. Be careful with Titan Trigger fish when you feed them, they BITE you.
Most of the Resort at Redang island will arrange Snorkeling trip by boat (included in the package – 2 or 3 trips for 3days 2 nights package), but you need to rent equipment like life jacket, snorkel(including children-size) – around RM25-RM40(keep by your self during your stay at the resort, return back before you check out). If you think hygiene and fitness is important, then you can bring you own equipment.
Tanjung Tengah Shark bay, another good place for snorkeling. At here, if you get lucky, you can see “black tip” sharks swim around. Others interesting fish like parrot fish, clown fish and common reefs fish can be found here.
For those who like scuba diving, some Resorts at Redang island offer diving course, you can booked for diving lesson packages also. In order to protect the coral, NO jet skiing and water skiing is allowed at Redang island.

Almost 2/3 of the Resorts are located at Pasir Panjang beach – the largest beach at Redang island. “Summer Holiday” movie(Sammi Cheng and Ricky Ren) was filmed at Laguna Redang Resort and you still can find the famous “More-More tea house” (which show in the movie)replica, now served as gift shop.
