Yesterday, I went to Melaka town for some merchant goods purchasing.  At first I didn’t notice any strange image when I drove pass the location.  On my way return, on the same road, perhaps is my instinct, to look at the beautiful Melaka’s beach.  This image appeared in front of my eyes :

Eye on Malaysia is GONE

I just felt something is not right, I make a turn and drive straight into the Eye on Malaysia site.  I walked out from my car, and wondered “Something is Missing??? “.   OMG! they had taken out(dismantle) all the gondolas from the Eye on Malaysia(I took these photo with my Sony Ericsson phone – Not very clear).

If you still remember my previous post (Eye on Malaysia is Closed).  Eye on Malaysia is CLOSED due to legal suit issue and I thought Melaka Government will taking over this project.  But from seeing this photo, I believed Eye on Malaysia will NO more be here anymore.  Melaka is losing another point of attraction.

Melaka is a famous because of its history, landmarks, foods and many tourism attraction places.  It give a lot of income to local tourism business.

See the photo above, so sarcastic and shameful.  Its really ‘ruin’ Melaka’s tourism business.

I believed we can built the World most Biggest and Tallest ‘architecture’, but the most important thing is after the completion and starting operation – Management + Maintenance are key issue.  Lack of this two aspect will cause ‘severe’ damage, like what Eye on Malaysian facing now.

Eye On Malaysia Close

OMG! I read the news from local newspaper saying that Melaka’s Eye on Malaysia is closed due to legal suit issue.  Visitors are not allowed to take a ride.  You can follow the full story from  http://themalaysianinsider.com, The Star.com (English version), Sinchew.com.my(Chinese version).

Feeling so disappointed, Eye on Malaysia at Melaka just operate a year plus since 2008.    Since it was one of the visitor/tourist attraction place, this really affect Melaka’s reputation and image.  I hoped local authorities would give support(help) on this issue.

Yesterday, I bring my family to Malacca, to experience the Eye On Malaysia.  Purposely, we went by evening because, there will be very beautiful sunset at the Malacca’s Straits (I believed).

I can tell you, the views are great and you won’t feel the gravity force when you down from top.  For those who are afraid of height, please don’t challenge this.

Eye on Malaysia is the largest transportable viewing wheel in South East Asia(SEA), it was first build near to Lake Titiwangsa(Kuala Lumpur) and is one of the attractions in Visit Malaysia Year 2007.  Now this ‘giant’ had been moved to Melaka (Malacca), near the scenic mouth of Melaka river.

It height about 60 meters, with 42 gondolas(air conditioned), each gondola can hold up to eight people and it take 12 minutes for a ride.
