I never changed my blog background color or image since starting blogging from 2009.  This is the first time I change my blog background color into ‘Red’ with Santa Clause image.  No special reason, just because Thanksgiving, Christmas and Year End celebration are coming very soon.  Hopefully, this will make others people feel the season is around the corner.

I had installed a plugin called iCaughtSanta from WordPress, just want to see the ‘Snaw Falling’ in the my blog.  (Where to find the plugin ? Goto your WordPress Admin page ->plugins -> Search for “iCaughtSanta”)

Is had been long time, I didn’t really write about festival and celebration.  Since it was Christmas eve, I bring my family to the nearest resort (A’Famosa Resort), to have some fun and enjoy the environment.

Is already 11.00 pm, and I thought the Fireworks Show had not started yet.   OH No! they already put the show at 10.00 pm.  Never mind, we just walk around and enjoy the lights decoration, fun fairs, Santa Clause, Santa-Rina and some Stage show.

Well,  compare to previous year Christmas eve celebration,  I can feel the visitors are not that crowded(Economy recession???), same situation at the Shopping mall.

I wish coming year, the economy will be better, World peace and everybody is healthy and wealthy.

Ya ya ya… Mid-Autumn Festival just finished and I’m writing Ghost Festival (Chinese Lunar Calendar 7th Month).  This traditional festival is still celebrate by Chinese in many Countries(Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan…).

King of the Ghost

Buddhist and Taoists had different understanding in this traditional festival.  For Taoists,  they believed on the 15th day of Seventh month of Chinese Lunar Calendar, the ghosts or spirits(including deceased ancestor) will come out from lower realm.  Living people will worship this spirits by preparing ritualistic foods offering, burning joss-paper, joss stick(incense), papier-mache form such as cloths, gold, money and others goods.To Buddhist, Seventh month of Chinese Lunar Calendar is as month of joy(Ullambana).

After watching some TV programs about this Ghost festival.  Finally, I know why there is a papier-mache boat.  Its look like, people who lived as fisher-men, in the Ghost festival, they will had to burn this papier-mache boat at the sea shore as a must rituals, asking for good catching and protection when they work on sea.

Yesterday, I stumble on this view near my working place, Lion Dance.

Watch out the Lions

It was a Chinese New Year’s lantern lights up ceremony by local Party representative.  At first, I heard a very loud drum beating sound, then 2 Lions Dance costume appearing right on the street.The lion dance performance is not last long, just about 3-5 minutes, I wonder how come so short the performance, it should be about 10 minutes show.  Then I realized, it just want some news on next day news paper.

Anyway, I got this photos taken before the show end.

Gong Xi Fa Cai! “Red Bull” (Chinese ‘Ox’ year)is coming.  We can hear CNY’s song a long the streets, we can see lanterns are hung every where, and we also see all types of cakes, cookies, snacks are sold every where.

Although, this year the CNY atmosphere is quite slow to heat up, but we still can feel that CNY is around.  I believed Chinese families are now busy preparing their house(cleaning, vacuum, decorating, buying new furniture, windows curtain).  Some of them may now busy making cookies, cakes and snacks.
